Church donations stolen in armed robbery and standoff
According to the Forney Police Department, Anthony Jackson of Forney will be charged with the aggravated robbery of the Forney Radiator and Muffler Service shop earlier today, August 6, 2013.

inForney.com spoke with the owner of the shop, Timothy Boles. According to Boles, Jackson stole approximately $40 from a church donation jar. The donations were being used to build a new church building for Last Generation Church in Mesquite, Texas.

Jackson allegedly grabbed the jar before noon today and began running the short distance to his home – less than a quarter mile from the shop. Employees of the shop noticed Jackson grab the jar and attempted to stop him. Then Jackson pulled a “large pocketknife” out of his pocket, says Boles. “That's when we knew he wasn't going to give the money back.”

According to Boles, “The [Forney Police Department] responded within minutes, it wasn't long, they were quick.” The Forney Police Department and SWAT team responded to Jackson's home in the 500 block of Broad Street and were involved in a brief standoff with the suspect. Jackson was later taken into custody without further incident. No officers from the Forney Police Department or any of the shop employees were injured.

Boles and his family have been operating the Forney Radiator and Muffler Service shop in Forney for more than 20 years. Jackson is currently booked in the Forney Jail where he awaits arraignment and a bond amount.
