Mesquite, Texas - The North Forney Lady Falcons lost their district opener to the Mesquite Poteet Lady Pirates on Friday night, September 13, 2013, after four sets, 3-1.
The Pirates won the first two sets 25 to 18 and 25 to 22. The Falcons won the third set with a four point margin, 25 to 21. The Pirates finalized the game in the fourth set with a 25 to 23 victory over the Falcons.
An upbeat North Forney Volleyball Head Coach Ray Kramer said, “Not quite the results we were looking for to start the season but showed some positive things and have 13 games still to play.”
The Falcons freshman and JV teams both beat the Pirates 2-0.
Some notable mentions on the night include Marilyn Rizzato with 12 kills. Peyton Hedrick with 9 kills, 1 block, and 20 digs. Morgan Fischer with 22 assists and 11 digs.
The Lady Falcons freshman team will travel to Mckinney, Texas, for the McKinney Freshman Tournament on Saturday, September 14, 2013. All teams will play their second district matchup against West Mesquite on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at North Forney High School.
