Terrell Police seeking assistance in identifying robbery and assault suspect
Terrell, Texas – The Terrell Police Department released the image of a man they believe assaulted a Family Dollar employee and then attempted to open the store's register on Monday morning.

At approximately 9:25 a.m., on Monday morning, December 16, 2013, Terrell police responded to the Family Dollar store in reference to a possible robbery. Surveillance video later revealed the suspect, described as a black male, struck the clerk so hard in the face it knocked her unconscious. No update on the clerk's current condiditon was available at the time of reporting.

The clerk, a white female, was working in the store alone according to police. After striking the clerk unconscious, the suspect attempted to open the store's register by slamming it on the counter several times.

The suspect fled the scene after his unsuccessful attempt to open the register. Surveillance video shows the suspect flee in a southwest direction. Additional surveillance video shows the suspect running on Bridge Street towards Moore Avenue and then south towards Bowser Street.

At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a black jacket, blue sweat pants, and a black toboggan.
