Late night traffic stop yields four arrests, narcotics
FORNEY, Texas – An alert caller helped the Forney Police Department yield four arrests early Monday morning, March 10, 2014.

At approximately 1 a.m., a person called 911 after witnessing a possible drug deal on Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 near Interstate Highway 20 in Kaufman County. The caller described the vehicle, provided the license plate number, and advised the vehicle involved was traveling toward the Forney city limit on FM 1641.

The Forney Police Department was able to locate the vehicle on westbound U.S. Highway 80 and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near the Kaufman County and Dallas County lines.

One female occupant, identified as Kimberly Brungot, of Forney, Texas, was arrested for public intoxication. Brungot's bond was set at $361 and was later released for time served.

Another female occupant, identified as Melinda Burkhead, of Mesquite, Texas, was arrested on warrants from the Dallas Police Department with bonds set at $453.85 and $388.70. Burkhead was also charged by the Forney Police Department for possession of methamphetamine with a bond of $5,000 and possession of marijuana with a bond of $750. Burkhead was transferred to the Kaufman County Jail where she was later released on bond.

Two male occupants of the vehicle, Adam Robinson and Joshua Minter, were each arrested on outstanding warrants and transferred to the Mesquite Police Department.
