Juan Leon, a lifelong car enthusiast, is now headed to Houston, Texas, where he will continue his education at UTI of Houston in a 12-week manufacturer-specific advanced training (MSAT) course specific to Cummins Inc.
MSAT postgraduate programs are offered only to the “best of the best” students with high GPA's, good attendance records, and a clean motor vehicle record, according to UTI's website.
“While at school he worked hard to stay at the head of his class and never once missed class – a considerable feat considering he commuted more than 40 miles each way to school,” states a media release from UTI.
“It’s students like Juan Leon that are the future of this growing industry,” said Jesus Miranda, Universal Technical Institute Dallas/Fort Worth Campus President. “With hard work and a commitment to excellence, Juan and his peers will go on to have very successful careers as auto or diesel technicians.”
Cummins, a Fortune 500 company, is most commonly known for their Cummins engines and turbochargers. Cummins recently announced a new $30 million headquarters building in Indianapolis, Indiana. UTI and Cummins are the only authorized providers of Cummins training.
