Terrell police chase suspect through Forney, ends in Mesquite
On May 8, the Dallas County Sheriff's Office arrested 29-year-old Armando Fuentes of Terrell after he allegedly stole a truck in Terrell, Texas, and led authorities on a 50-minute police chase. The stolen vehicle was described as a white, four-door, flat bed pickup truck.

According to the Terrell Police Department, the chase began at approximately 10:00 a.m. in the 1600 block of West Moore Avenue when Fuentes refused to stop for police. Fuentes then fled on westbound US Highway 80 through Forney and into Mesquite with speeds in excess of 100 mph at times.

Fuentes fled along Scyene Road and Military Parkyway in Mesquite and then entered northbound 635. He later exited Town East Blvd, made his way to Gus Thomasson Road, and continued on the eastbound service road of Interstate 30.

Eventually, Fuentes ended up on Galloway where he drove in the opposite direction of traffic towards Americana Lane. The suspect's stolen vehicle slowed after hitting deployed spike strips. Fuentes surrendered without incident on Americana Lane, just feet from Poteet High School.

According to Dallas County Jail records, Fuentes is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.

Witnesses said that the vehicle belonged to Charlie Harris who confronted Fuentes during the theft. Harris held onto the truck as Fuentes was fleeing and pulled the steering wheel to avoid hitting a child in the path of the fleeing suspect.
