The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Forney Community Park with a live DJ providing entertainment, bounce houses, a zip line, rock climbing wall, a big slide, train rides, and other carnival games for the children – all of which are free, except for food and drinks. Fireworks are expected to start at 9:30 p.m., according to Forney Parks and Recreation Sports Coordinator Dodie Gilliand.
Parking will be available at the park with overflow parking in the surrounding auxiliary fields and the softball complex. The festivities will be centered around the soccer complex and the fireworks will be launched from the north end of the park.
Food and drinks will be available through several different food vendors. Coolers are allowed at the park. No alcohol or glass bottles are permitted. Canopies and pop-up tents are not permitted on the soccer fields.
In the past, more than 10,000 people have been estimated to attend the event. Arrive early for a great parking spot and viewing/picnic area.
