KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The Crandall Fire Department with mutual aid from the Combine and Kaufman Fire Departments extinguished a home fire in the 2900 block of County Road (CR) 4104.

The fire began at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014, and first responding units reported heavy smoke coming from a double-wide mobile home. The fire was knocked down by firefighters within an hour of their arrival.
The double-wide mobile home was unoccupied at the time of the fire – its occupants had recently moved out, according to Crandall Fire Department Chief Allen Cousins.
The mobile home is located on CR 4104, north of Farm-to-Market (FM) 148 and Murphy Lake. Approximately nine fire apparatus were used to fight the fire.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. An East Texas Medical Center ambulance provided firefighter rehab at the scene.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal's Office is working to determine the cause of the fire.
