TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department is investigating what they call a “peculiar report” after a portion of a woman's finger was severed during an incident on Sunday night, July 27, 2014.

At approximately 11 p.m., Sunday night, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Lovers Lane for a 23-year-old victim with the injury to her pinky finger. The female ultimately refused medical treatment at the scene.
According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, the victim stated herself and two other individuals were supposedly driving to Walmart on West Moore Avenue in Terrell, Texas, when they diverted to a remote location on the side of the road in the 2500 block of West Moore Avenue.
The three then exited the vehicle and entered a garage structure where a verbal altercation ensued. The verbal altercation escalated and the portion victim's finger was severed.
Instead of going to a hospital, the victim was transported to a friend's apartment on Lovers Lane where police were notified of the incident. According to Sansom, the victim was alone in the parking lot when police arrived.
“Police received a number of different accounts of this incident during their investigation and the matter is still being work by criminal investigators,” stated Sansom in a press release.
