A district-wide early release is not planned for Forney ISD during the inclement weather conditions on May 21, 2013, according to Forney ISD spokesperson Larry Coker. The district will however allow parents that are home, or available, to pick up their children early from school.
Forney Independent School District's complete statement:
At this time Forney ISD does not have any plans to release students early today. Many of our students have parents that work and are not at home and we do not want to have children going home to empty house. However, we are allowing parents to come and pick up their children early if they want to.
We will be monitoring the weather throughout the day and all of our campuses are receiving emergency weather information from the National Weather Service. In addition, all of our campuses have emergency radios to stay in touch with District administrators and local authorities if conditions worsen.
