The couple is accused of the capital murders of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, his wife, Cynthia, and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse last year in Kaufman County.
Hasse was gunned down on January 31, 2013, as he walked from the Kaufman County Annex parking lot to the county courthouse. The McLellands were killed in their Forney area home just two months later on March 30, 2013.
The defense attorney's argued they would not ask questions pertaining to the murders and Kim's alleged involvement but instead sought information about the couple's relationship. An attorney representing Kim stated she would not answer any questions under her Fifth Amendment right. Kim was not present for the hearing.
Divorce proceedings for the Williams are still pending in Kaufman County.
Jury selection for Eric Williams' trial is expected to begin in September with the trial expected to begin in December.
