FORNEY, Texas (Forney ISD Press Release) – The Forney Independent School District recently announced that Joseph Pouncy will be the new principal for Warren Middle School beginning with the 2014-2015 school year.

Pouncy, currently an assistant principal at Forney High School replaces Kenneth Pearce who was recently named the principal at Royse City High School in the Royse City Independent School District in Royse City, Texas.
Pouncy has more than 12 years of experience in education as a teacher, coach and administrator. He began his career in 2002 as a business instructor and head track coach at Irving High School in the Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas. In 2006 he was named the business instructor and head track coach at Richardson High School in the Richardson Independent School District in Richardson, Texas. He was later named the offensive coordinator/strength and conditioning coordinator and a business teacher at Bryan Adams High School in Dallas ISD in Dallas, Texas in 2008. He joined Forney ISD as an assistant principal at Forney High School in 2010.
“I am very excited and honored to be named the new principal at Warren Middle School,” Pouncy said. “As an assistant principal at Forney High School, I have had the opportunity to work with many of the teachers and administrators at Warren over the past few years. I am very impressed with the knowledge and talent of the staff and I look forward to joining the Warren team and continuing the great education programs in place to better prepare the students for high school.”
Pouncy received his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Baylor University in Waco, Texas and his Master’s Degree in Education from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. He completed his principal certification in 2011.
Students in the 7th and 8th grades attend school at Warren Middle School which is located at 811 S. Bois d’Arc in Forney. Students that attend Warren Middle School attend Forney High School beginning their freshman year of school.
