Kim Williams, the partner in the alleged husband-wife grudge killings of two Kaufman County prosecutors and one of their wives, has filed for divorce against husband Eric Williams. Kim's mother has also filed a lawsuit against Eric Williams for repayment of $50,000 in loans.
Lucienne Johnson, Kim Williams' mother, filed a lawsuit against Eric Williams claiming she loaned Mr. Williams $30,000 on January 25, 2012, and $20,000 on April 26, 2012. Johnson claims she demanded repayment of the loans and Mr. Williams refused to pay the amounts due. According to Kaufman County records, Mr. Williams was served with the lawsuit in jail the day before he was indicted on the capital murder charges.
The day after the couple was indicted on three counts each of capital murder, a petition for divorce was filed on behalf of Kim Williams by her attorney John Stewart of Dallas. According to Kaufman County records, Eric Williams has not yet been served with the divorce petition as of July 3rd. Stewart is also representing Johnson in her lawsuit against Eric Williams.
While authorities were investigating the murders of the McLellands and Mark Hasse, Eric Williams was arrested on making a terroristic threat. Days later, on April 16, Kim Williams confessed to her involvement in the murders and described in detail the role her husband played. It would later be discovered that Kim Williams acted as the getaway driver in the attack of Mark Hasse a block from the Kaufman County courthouse on the morning of January 31, 2013, and as the driver to and from the McLelland's home in Forney, where Michael and Cynthia were killed.
Visiting Judge Mike Snipes has been appointed to the trial and Special Prosecutors Toby Shook and Bill Wirskye will be prosecuting the Williamses on the indictments. A statement released by the Kaufman County District Attorney's Office on June 27, 2013, states the defendants may receive the death penalty for the alleged capital offenses.
