Area healthcare administrators were recognized in Becker's Hospital Review, a national healthcare monthly magazine, in their “125 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” list and “100 Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know” list.

Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale Chief Financial Officer Ben Dunford made Becker's “125 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” list. Dunford has been TRMC-Sunnyvale's CFO since August of 2011 and, according to Becker's, Dunford “has improved profitability by roughly 30 percent while lowering accounts receivable days and supply costs.”

TRMC-Sunnyvale's CEO Stephen Garrison said, “Ben is responsible for ensuring Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s ongoing healthy financial performance and outlook. His financial prowess helps the hospital and its medical professionals provide Sunnyvale-area residents the best care possible. It’s wonderful that Becker’s recognizes Ben’s work.”

TRMC-Sunnyvale's recently-promoted CIO Rob McDonald was named to Becker's Hospital Review's “100 Hospital and Health System CIOs to Know” list.

According to a TRMC-Sunnyvale press release, “At the time of his nomination, McDonald was TRMC-Sunnyvale’s director of information technology and his promotion was in the works.”

“Running a community hospital these days calls for much more than just top-quality medical care,” said Garrison of McDonald. “McDonald successfully oversees Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s technology budget, design and implementation and helps the hospital maintain its reputation as one of the North Texas area’s technologically advanced hospitals.”

McDonald was instrumental in the recent implementation of TRMC-Sunnyvale’s computerized physician order-entry system, which allows all the hospital’s 256 physicians on staff to send their medical orders electronically. McDonald was part of the team that helped open TRMC-Sunnyvale in September 2009.

“To me, TRMC-Sunnyvale represents what a community hospital should be today,” McDonald said. “We strive every day to bring the best possible care and experience to our community; we are committed to leveraging the most current technology possible to help deliver this vision of quality, efficiency and patient experience.”

The former CEO of Lake Pointe Health Network in Rowlett, Texas, also made the list alongside McDonald. J. Eric Evans began serving as the CEO in 2010 at the age of 32. Evans now serves as the CEO of Sierra Providence Health Network in El Paso, Texas.
