Forney Lions Club celebrates 20th annual 5K run

Runners from all over Texas participated in this momentous race with ages ranging from 6 to 74. The race was held in conjunction with the 2nd Annual Forney Arts Festival. The run began in historic downtown Forney and continued along the certified 5K track down Main Street, to the Forney Community Park, through the park's trails, then back down Main Street to the finish line.

Forney Mayor Darren Rozell, who is a Lions Club member, presented the awards after the race to the winners of each age group, open, and masters brackets.

Female Open winner: 35-year-old Miranda Hyvl of Heath, Texas, with a time of 23:43.4
Male Masters winner: 51-year-old Brian Zemlicka with a time of 21:11.3
Female Masters winner: 55-year-old Jana Curtis of Heartland, Texas, with a time of 25:52.4
