Forney, Texas – The first Freeze Warning of the winter season has been issued by the National Weather Service for Kaufman County and much of North Texas.
The freeze warning will take effect at 9:00 p.m. tonight, Tuesday November 12, 2013, until Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Temperatures are expected to dip into the low 20s. On average, the date of the first freeze falls on November 22. The earliest first freeze recorded was on October 22, 1898, with a temperature of 31 degrees.
The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures steady in the upper 40s for the remainder of today with north winds of 15 to 20 miles per hour. Tonight, clear with lows in the mid 20s and north winds of 10 to 15 miles per hour – decreasing to around 5 miles per hour after midnight.
