Mesquite, Texas - On November 27, 2013, Mesquite, Texas, police announced the investigation into an apparent murder-suicide which was discovered on Tuesday night after police responded to a "welfare check" at a home located in the 3400 block of Eastbrook Drive near Town East Boulevard in Mesquite.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered 42-year-old Sandra Middlebrook of Mesquite in the kitchen of the residence dead from gunshot wounds. Police said she was dead for several days. In the master bedroom, police discovered the body of 35-year-old Clinton Scott who died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said Scott was living at the home for several months but did not release further details regarding any possible relationship between Middlebrook and Scott. Police also did not reveal the source of the original call requesting the welfare check.
