Mesquite, Texas (ionMesquite.com) - Mesquite High School was placed on lockdown on Tuesday afternoon because of a standoff with an armed man at a business across the street from the school.
Police placed the school under lockdown and diverted traffic away from the 300 block of S. Bryan-Belt Line Road. The incident began just before 2 p.m. when the man was seen walking around the parking lot of Advancial Federal Credit Union at 309. S. Bryan-Belt Line, according to Lt. Bill Hedgpeth of the Mesquite Police Department.
