A minor water main break in downtown Forney, Texas, sent water all the way down Broad Street on Monday morning.

According to Public Works Director Chris Metz, only a few businesses were affected by the break on Monday morning but service was quickly restored. Crews blocked one lane of westbound traffic on Broad Street near the intersection of Burgett Street where the break occurred.
The break was likely caused because of the cold weather – which causes the ground to shift – and the age of the pipe, says Metz. “We will sand the roads in that area due to the cold temperatures as well.”
