The fire began around 3:30 a.m., on Friday morning, January 10, 2014, as fire crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring RV. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire and the Mesquite Fire Department is investigating its cause. A representative from the Mesquite Fire Department said a preliminary investigation indicates the fire may have been accidental.
The firefighters were also able to prevent the fire from spreading to the other RV which was in danger, according to Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend. The fire did leave heat and burn marks near the front top edge of the other RV.
Four units from the Forney Fire Department responded to the fire as mutual aid to Mesquite's Fire Station 7 as the fire was in one of the station's districts.
