MESA Softball will be holding their final 2014 Spring registration session at City Bank from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. City Bank is located at 771 East U.S. Highway 80 near CVS. According to a MESA representative, the registration rules have changed this year. Girls currently on a team must register through their coaches and girls not on a team must register through the registration session.
MESA's season will start in April and end in June and games are played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Registration for 4U is $15, 6U is $45, 8U is $45, 10U is $55, 12U is $55, and 15U - which requires team registration only - is $55.
Forney Youth Baseball Association – FYBA
The Forney Youth Baseball Association is holding their final Spring 2014 registration session at the Mick Spellman Parks Building which is located within the Forney Community Park at 241 South FM 548. The session will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
FYBA is affiliated with USSSA and will include one single elimination pre-season tournament, 12 regular season games, and a single elimination end-of-season tournament. For ages six and up, the pre-season tournament will essentially determine which league your team will play in – either the American League or the National League. Age groups with seven teams or less will combine the American and National Leagues.
Registration for 4U is $75 and there is no umpire. Registration for 5U, 6U, and 7U is $85. Registration for 8U, 9/10U, 11/12U, and 13/14U is $105. Additionally, individuals interested in playing 15U through 18U should contact Cory McGee at (214) 460-0172.
Tentatively, practices are scheduled to start on Monday, February 24, 2014, and games will start around mid to late March depending on total registration.
