FORNEY, Texas – At approximately 1:30 p.m., the Forney Fire Department responded to two simultaneous wrecks on U.S. Highway 80 today, March 13, 2014, on opposite ends of their fire district.

Four vehicles were involved in a chain reaction accident on westbound U.S. Highway 80 near Windmill Farms Boulevard. The accident was in the left lane of the highway and caused traffic delays to Spur 557.
The Forney Fire Department, Forney Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety provided traffic control and a single lane was allowed through on the right shoulder. No serious injuries were reported at this accident.
The second accident involved two vehicles on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 near Lawson Road. Upon arrival, Forney Fire Department's Rescue 1 was disregarded and the Sunnyvale Fire Department was dispatched because the location of the accident was in Dallas County.
The second accident further impacted traffic congestion caused by bridge repair further east near Farm-to-Market (FM) 460. The right lane was temporarily closed due to the accident. No major injuries were reported at this accident either.
