FORNEY, Texas – The Kaufman County Environmental Co-op will host their annual membership meeting tomorrow, March 20, 2014, which will include a meet and greet and a tour of the recycling plant in Terrell, Texas. A Forney cleanup and compost workshops are also planned for later this month.

The annual membership meeting will be held at the Environmental Co-op Recycling Plant at 1100 Airport Road, Terrell, Texas 75160. The meet and greet and plant tour will take place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with finger foods and drinks provided. The annual membership meeting will directly follow from 6 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
“Our membership meeting is a chance for us to show off all that we have accomplished together this past year,” stated Kaufman County Environmental Co-op Administrator Candice Boswell. “The open house is open to everyone and is a great chance for you to take a look inside at how we process local recyclables for shipment.”
Co-op members will also vote on for or against co-op directors during the membership meeting. Thomas King was nominated to represent Precinct 1, John Kegerreis to represent Precinct 2, and Christi Neal to represent Precinct 4.
A Forney cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at East Side Park at 1017 East Aimee Street and East Broad Street. Parking and registration is at East Side Park. Volunteers will receive gloves, vests, trash bags, and cleanup instructions. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes. An appreciation cookout will be held after the cleanup.
