FORNEY, Texas – Forney High School's boys and girls soccer teams are advancing to the playoffs with their first games in the UIL Region II Area playoffs on Friday, March 28, 2014.

The Forney High School girls team (10-2), ranked second in District 23-4A, is set for a Friday night, March 28, 2014, matchup at Forney City Bank stadium against District 21-4A contender Royse City (4-3). The game is set to start at 6:00 p.m.
The only team to defeat the girls in district were the current district champions, Mesquite Poteet (11-1), who beat them twice, 2-1 and 3-1. Poteet is scheduled to play Lovejoy tomorrow night at Highland Park.
The Forney High School boys team (7-3), also ranked second in District 23-4A, are scheduled to play District 22-4A champions Hillcrest (9-1) at Franklin Stadium in Dallas, Texas, on Friday night, March 28, 2014, at 7 p.m.
Forney High School's Dominick Faletto is leading Dallas/Fort Worth area schools on the stats leaderboard in the Dallas Morning News for most goals scored on the season with 36. Hillcrest's Alexis Zapata is trailing in third place with 25 goals. In total, Forney and Hillcrest have five players in the top 20 scoring leaderboard.
