FORNEY, Texas – A Forney woman was arrested after overturning her vehicle on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 earlier today, March 28, 2014.

The green GMC Jimmy SUV she was driving overturned on the highway near Pinson Road/Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 at approximately 2:30 p.m. and came to a rest on its hood. The right lane of traffic and the Pinson Road onramp were closed while the vehicle was overturned and towed from the scene.
The female driver was seen walking around the accident scene and uninjured. She was briefly examined by an East Texas Medical Center ambulance before being taken into custody by the Forney Police Department.
Prior to the accident, a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the rollover accident was reported in a hit-and-run accident with a City of Forney Animal Control vehicle.
A witness also saw the vehicle speeding and driving erratically prior to the accident. “She flew past me in the parking lot [near Cristina's Mexican Restaurant] on my left side then darted onto the service road,” said Christina Henderson. “[She] ran several people off the road after that.”
The animal control vehicle and a witness to the prior hit-and-run were called to the scene of the rollover accident and accident investigators took pictures of the animal control vehicle and the green SUV.
The Forney Police Department later confirmed 37-year-old Ann Breckenridge was arrested and charged with causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle greater than or equal to $200, a class B misdemeanor, stemming from the prior accident with the animal control vehicle. Breckenridge was previously convicted of driving while intoxicated in May 2003 in Dallas County. She was also convicted for driving while intoxicated second in Rockwall County on January 16, 2014, and is currently on probation in that case.
