FORNEY, Texas – The Forney Independent School District will host their inaugural Forney ISD Special Olympics Meet on Monday, May 12, 2014, at 9 a.m. at City Bank Stadium.

More than 200 Special Olympics athletes from Forney ISD and several surrounding school districts will compete in several competitions and relays including: Softball throw; tennis ball throw; Nerf javelin; standing long jump; running long jump; shot put; 10 and 50 meter walk and assisted walks; 50, 100, and 400 meter races; a 4x100 meter relay; and wheelchair races.
inForney.com's sports writer and Sportsgram broadcaster Tony Gonzalez will announce the event and certified United States Track and Field Official Tommie Mankins will be the official starter for all the events. Concession stands will be made available by the Forney Lions Club.
