Elsaddi was first arrested and charged with the arson on February 21, 2014, by Kaufman County Assistant Fire Marshal Randy Richards after a six month investigation. Elsaddi's bond was set at $100,000 at the time of his booking into the Kaufman County Jail – he posted bond the same day and was released.
Elsaddi was the tenant of the warehouse located at 12035 South Profit Row near Farm-to-Market (FM) 1641 and was operating A&O Foreign Auto Parts. Firefighters from Forney and Terrell, Texas, responded to the fire on September 6, 2013, to find a fully engulfed warehouse. The extreme heat inside the building melted the metal support beams and exterior walls before half of the building collapsed.
Elsaddi spoke with fire investigators the night of the fire and indicated he left his warehouse hours before the fire. Video of the fire was captured by inForney.com here.
No other buildings were damaged in the fire and no injuries were reported.
