FORNEY, Texas – North Forney High School (13-1, 26-4-2) wrapped up their best-of-three series against The Colony (8-6, 19-11) in the UIL Class 4A Bi-District series with a win – sweeping the series 2-0 and becoming Bi-District Champions.

North Forney won last night's game 8-4 and tonight's game 9-3 with an impressive 5th inning with 5 runs scored. North Forney took an early lead in the 1st inning scoring two runs. The Colony tied it up in the 2nd inning and later took the lead in the top of the 5th inning.
North Forney's Taylor Seiber smacked a long home run to start off the the bottom of the 5th. With a runner on 3rd and 1st, Christi Flanigan hit a 2 RBI double which was followed up by a Maddi Carney RBI. The score going into the 6th inning was North Forney 7 to The Colony 3.
The Falcons scored an additional two runs in the 6th inning and stopped The Colony from scoring in the 6th and 7th to win the game 9-3 with 13 hits. Peyton Hedrick also smacked a double and a triple to help the Falcons offense. Flanigan had 3 RBIs, Seiber 1 RBI, Lainey Smith 1 RBI, Carney 1 RBI, and Stephanie Willey 1 RBI.
“Couldn't be prouder of the girls for sticking with it,” said Softball Head Coach Andrew Delozier. “The other team didn't have anything to lose. We went to their place and won so tonight they were just going all out. We felt a little bit of that pressure coming from them but we didn't give up. I'm way proud of them.”
North Forney will move to area-round playoffs next week against Molina after their victory over Samuell, 24-2.
