According to Heath Department of Public Safety officials, “there is no evidence of foul play at the scene.” Family members told Heath DPS, “Ethan enjoyed walking in the woods close to his home, but always returned by dark.”
Moran was found by a search team at approximately 10:09 p.m. after he was reported missing at 9:12 p.m. in the 1700 block of White Road. The gun recovered from the scene has been sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas, Texas, for further testing, according to Heath DPS. Additional lab tests are also pending.
"We are hopeful the results from these tests will give us a better understanding of how the death of Ethan Moran occurred," said Lieutenant Scott Trammell of the Heath DPS.
