KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – 24-year-old Christopher Shayne Butler, of Kaufman, Texas, was killed in a rollover accident on Sunday morning, May 4, 2014, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Trooper Kyle Bradford.

Butler's vehicle, a 1999 Ford F-150, was traveling northbound on Farm-to-Market (FM) 2728 at approximately 7:12 a.m. when it veered off the road into a ditch before re-entering the highway and rolling over several times. Butler was ejected from the vehicle, according to Bradford.
Butler was the only passenger in the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved in the accident which is still under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Kaufman County Justice of the Peace Johnny Adams pronounced Butler deceased at the scene of the accident, approximately 4 miles northeast of Terrell, Texas, at 7:27 a.m.
Butler, who was born in Terrell, Texas, lived in Kaufman, Texas, where he graduated from Kaufman High School in 2009. According to his obituary, Butler was married and had a son. Memorial services for Butler will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Country Bible Church at 401 North Shannon Street in Kaufman, Texas.
