FORNEY, Texas – A westward traveling Union Pacific train stalled this morning, May 6, 2014, after its main engine de-coupled with the train – blocking all four railroad crossings in downtown Forney.
The train was stalled for approximately one hour as crews re-coupled the train and engine. The crossing at Farm-to-Market (FM) 548 was the only railroad crossing open.
At 11:54 a.m., the train began to move again at a slow pace – opening the South Chestnut Street crossing first. The Center Street, Elm Street, and South Bois D'Arc Street crossings opened a short time later.
