FORNEY, Texas – Crews have begun preliminary dirt work for a proposed 75 lots within the Park Trails Planned Development – northeast of Ridgecrest Road.

The area, 21.66 acres, will connect to the back of Phase 1 and 2 of the Deerfield Heights neighborhood at Longhorn Lane and Rustic Trail. Deerfield Heights Phase 2, where the development will connect at Longhorn Lane, is also known as Park Trails according to a builder's representative.
The final plat, known as Park Trails Phase 1, was approved by the Forney City Council last year on May 28, 2013. Approximately 2.7 acres near Longhorn Lane and the Park Trails pond will be dedicated for park land.
Although an amenities center wasn't included and approved in the final plat, the drawings suggest the future amenities center will be located on Longhorn Lane just north of the park and adjacent to the 2.7 acres of park land dedication.
