BULLARD, Texas – Hallsville High School proved to be North Forney High School softball team's toughest competition in their route to the state playoff tournament – defeating them in game 2, 5-1, and sweeping the best-of-three series.

Although North Forney is no stranger to the playoffs, winning three district titles in the last four years and making the playoffs all five years with a varsity team, the team had yet to advance to the regional semifinals round.
After a 6-0 loss last night, North Forney returned to Bullard, Texas, in their best-of-three series against Hallsville High School at Brook Hill Private School for their UIL Class 4A Regional Semifinals debut.
North Forney's 3rd at-bat, Abilene Christian signee Peyton Hedrick started off the scoring with a home run out of center field. With two outs already on the board, Marilyn Rizzato doubled on a line drive to left field. Christi Flanigan, also an Abilene Christian signee, went out swinging to end their scoring run.
Hallsville took the lead in the 2nd inning answering Hedrick's home run with one of their own off the bat of Hannah Mizell who also scored Nicole Linton. Hallsville scored another two runs in the 2nd inning bringing the score to 4-1. Hallsville score another run in the 6th inning and that was all she wrote – Hallsville 5, North Forney 1.
