12-year Forney ISD Board member Becky Dobbs chose to retire earlier this year and did not seek re-election which made way for a new face to join the board – Cheryl Mason.
“I've enjoyed my time and I wouldn't take anything for it,” said Dobbs. “I know Mrs. Mason will do an outstanding job.”
“I have a great respect for you,” Board President Keith Bell told Dobbs. “You will be sorely missed by this board and by myself … It's been an honor to serve with you.”
Mason and current Forney ISD Board member Greg Pharris, who was re-elected, were sworn in and administered their oaths of office by Judy Sacco, Secretary to the Superintendent – Mason in Position 1 and Pharris in Position 2.
The board then elected a board president, vice president, and secretary. Each decision was unanimous: Keith Bell, President; Heath Carroll, Vice President; and Greg Pharris, Secretary.
