Hough received the ceremonious flag and a certificate from District 4 State Representative Lance Gooden's office which states the flag was flown “with thanks for her courage and her generosity to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.”
“It feels like an honor and its beyond words how cool that was,” Hough told inForney.com. “I can't wait to frame it and hang it on my wall.”
Hough, a third-grade student at Crosby Elementary, was diagnosed with juvenile dermatomyositis and treated at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRH) in Dallas, Texas, and her family has since committed to giving back to the hospital.
In May 2014, Emily's Monkeys raised over $14,000 for TSRH at their 4th annual sock monkey making event.
