Not only were the attendance numbers doubled, which doesn't account for people parking outside the park, but city officials doubled the number of food vendors, rides, and games as they had last year. The fireworks show lasted approximately 19 minutes.
“We are already in the process of planning how to make next year's event even better,” Tiesman told inForney.com. But, city officials are conducting an online survey to receive feedback and suggestions before moving forward. Survey link: https://clients.zwoor.com/online/index/code/GDJ229.
In total, there were 10 children's rides which included a train and a climbing wall, 20 fair-style game booths, and 10 food vendors who served snow cones, bar-b-cue, sandwiches, fair food, tacos, and popcorn.
Entertainment was also provided by a local DJ within the soccer complex and the Forney Community Band performed for the first time ever as a group at the Mick Spellman Amphitheater located within the Forney Community Park.
The Trail of Treats, Turkey Trax, and Christmas on Main are scheduled for later this year. City officials are also currently discussing the possibility of continuing the concert and movie series in the fall.
