KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – The Elmo, Terrell, and Able Springs Volunteer Fire Departments worked together on Tuesday afternoon to extinguish a fast-moving pasture fire north of Elmo, Texas, in eastern Kaufman County.

According to Deputy Kaufman County Fire Marshal Chad Woosley, the fire ultimately burned 40 to 45 acres near Emerald Lane and Farm-to-Market (FM) 2728. Although the fire threatened at least one structure near the burn path, firefighters prevented any structure damage.
The fire spread extremely quick and jumped three fences according to a firefighter on scene. Several brush trucks and tankers were used to fight the fire.
