KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – 422nd District Court Judge B. Michael Chitty and the Kaufman County Bar Association have joined together to provide legal assistance for family law cases to Kaufman County residents with limited financial means.

The Kaufman County Pro Bono Clinic will be open on the second Friday of each month from noon to 6 p.m. at the South Campus Courtroom located at 3001 South Washington Street in Kaufman, Texas.
“Meaningful access to legal services and the courts by all citizens is a cornerstone of our legal system and its guarantee of justice for all,” states a release from Judge Chitty's office.
“Volunteer lawyers will be present to assist those who need help in connection with divorce, custody, child support, and other family law matters; and Judge B. Michael Chitty of the 422nd District Court will be available to consider any case requiring a hearing,” states the release.
Persons interested in the clinic will be required to fill out a financial qualifying form, provide proof of county residency, and provide documents related to their case.
