According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, an arrest warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Ontarius Cardae Morris of Terrell, Texas, for the shooting incident in the area of Park Street early Sunday morning, July 27, 2014.

At 2:34 a.m., Sunday morning, the Terrell Police Department received a 911 call of possible shots fired in the area of Park Street and, at the same time, a subject – the victim of the shooting – walked into the lobby of the police department to report the incident. Nobody was shot or injured during the incident, according to authorities.

According to the victim, who reported to have known Morris, the two were involved in an encounter several months ago. The victim told police he saw Morris twice earlier in the day. The second time he saw Morris, Morris exited his vehicle and raised his arms.

As the victim attempted to elude Morris, he heard two gunshots. At least one gunshot struck and shattered the rear window of the victim's vehicle. A passenger in the victim's vehicle corroborated the statements of the victim, according to Sansom.

The Terrell Police Department stated this shooting incident is unrelated to the shooting incident on July 19, 2014, in the 700 block of Newton Street.

Morris has a prior conviction in Kaufman County for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than one gram in a drug free zone. Morris was sentenced to five years of community supervision and 200 hours of community service.
