On May 28, 2013, Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood attended the beginning of the regularly scheduled Forney City Council meeting to ceremoniously swear in recently re-elected Forney Mayor Darren Rozell.
After taking his oath of office, Mayor Rozell thanked the citizens of Forney by saying, “Thank you the citizens of Forney for giving me another two years and the opportunity to continue to lead this city. We have some really exciting positive times coming ahead and I'm really looking forward to those and I know the rest of this council is, thank you.”
Judge Wood will be returning to Forney on June 4 to swear in newly elected Place 4 Council member Scott Regan who defeated longtime Council member James Hatley by two votes. Re-elected Place 6 Council member Andy Parker and newly elected Place 2 Council Member Ray Stephens, who ran unopposed, have not announced anyone to ceremoniously swear them into office.
