The Forney Arts Council (FAC) and Crumbzz will be hosting their annual summer “Patio Party” on June 1, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The following weekend, the FAC will have their “2nd Saturdays” artisan market in historic downtown Forney on June 8, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The “Patio Party” will be held at the joint FAC Gallery of the Arts and Crumbzz Tasting Pavilion at 212 South Bois D'Arc in Forney. The party will play host to celebrity judges who will select a winner in the FAC's art competition to design the 2013 Make It Creative! Forney Arts Festival poster. Crumbzz will also be unveiling their new key lime pie cheesecake crumb cake.

The celebrity judges will include: KRLD's Afternoon Drive host Chris Sommer; horror author and book designer Brian Moreland; and author and nationally syndicated radio host of America Tonight Kate Delaney.
“The FAC is very excited to host their first Forney Arts Festival Poster Design Contest and celebrate this special event by having these well-known professionals to judge the entries,” said Liz Lawless, Forney Arts Festival Director.
“We would like to thank the many Forney businesses who are participating directly and indirectly in our event,” said J Stephen Sadler, owner of Crumbzz Tasting Pavilion. “Our goal is to make downtown Forney a place for the whole family to enjoy every day of the week. Showcasing the changes that are happening daily to the downtown area by offering these type of events is the best way we can bring the ‘NEW’ Forney to all our residents.”
Saturday, June 8, will transform historic downtown into an all day artisan market – a concept the FAC launched earlier this year, “2nd Saturdays.” In just a few months, “2nd Saturdays” went from a handful of artisan booths to a block-wide artisan market with a musical flair. Anybody with the passion or appreciation for the arts is sure to enjoy themselves at the market, the musical drum circle, and the after-hours “Pickers in the Park” at Bell Park from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
