Newly elected Forney City Council member Scott Regan was sworn in at the City Council meeting on Tuesday night, June 4, 2013. Council members also decided to table discussions for appointing a new Mayor Pro-Tem.
Kaufman County Judge Bruce Wood made the trip out to Forney again, after swearing in Mayor Darren Rozell at last month's meeting, to swear in Place 4 Council member Scott Regan. “I stand before you tonight but a simple servant to the people. It is a privilege to have this opportunity and one I do not take lightly. I'm truly humbled,” said Council member Regan after taking his oath of office.
Re-elected Place 6 Council member Andy Parker was sworn in to office by City Secretary Dorothy Brooks.
One of two work session items on the City Council agenda was to discuss and consider an appointment of a new Mayor Pro-Tem. Because of the absence of Council members Ray Stephens and Robbie Powers, Parker made a motion to table the discussion until the June 18th City Council meeting. All council members present voted in favor of tabling the discussion.
Council members Ray Stephens and Robbie Powers were both absent due to illness.
