A 165-foot minion blimp was seen flying over Forney on Tuesday evening, June 4, 2013. The blimp is a promotional blimp for the movie “Despicable Me 2” and is one of only 15 airships flying in the world today.
The “Despicablimp” is traveling from Florida to California to promote the release of “Despicable Me 2” that will be released in theaters on July 3, 2013. According to the Despicablimp Command Center website, the blimp has a maximum speed of 45 miles per hour and usually travels at about 1,000 feet above the ground, although it can go as high as 10,000 feet above the ground.
