The Kaufman Police Department arrested 49-year-old James Earl Seaton and charged him with aggravated assault of an elderly person for injuring an 88-year-old woman at the Kaufman Healthcare Center where he is an employee.
The Kaufman Police Department first responded to the Kaufman Healthcare Center on the morning of May 31, 2013, on a report that an elderly woman had been injured. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital with a gash to her forehead and severe bruising all over her face and forehead.
Kaufman police arrested Seaton in Terrell, Texas, on Tuesday night and later booked him into the Kaufman County Jail at 5:58 a.m. on Tuesday morning, June 5, 2013, according to jail records. Seaton is being held on a $250,000 bond.
A representative for the Kaufman Healthcare Center was not immediately available for comment.
While booked in the Kaufman County Jail, Seaton allowed an interview with CBS 11 in which he claims the injury was an accident. A Kaufman Police spokesman was not available for comment at the time of reporting.
According to Kaufman County records, Seaton has a criminal record dating back to 1984 for burglary of a vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, and several vehicular moving violations.
