Dallas-based Huffines Communities announced on August 5, 2013, they would be stepping into the role as the new management company for the 2,000-acre mast planned community of Heartland.
“Huffines is pleased to be selected by Heartland’s owners as the future developer and property manager, especially after a rigorous competitive review in which numerous quality managers were considered,” said Phillip Huffines, co-owner of Huffines Communities. “It is exciting to have the opportunity to continue Heartland’s exceptional growth.”
Accrding to a news release from the company, “Huffines expects to spend 60-to-90 days evaluating Heartland’s opportunities and setting priorities for the next phase of development. Huffines’ plans will enhance the numerous amenities currently enjoyed by Heartland residents while considering additional features that will contribute to the community’s appeal.”
Huffines will also be responsible for making future design decisions for homes, size and configuration of future lots, and any new builders to bring to Heartland in the future.
“Heartland is an excellent, well managed community and we intend to enhance the quality of housing and add several new builders,” noted Donald Huffines, co-owner of Huffines Communities. “Construction of the next 170 lots will begin in the next 60 days.”
Heartland is owned by Florida based company HW Heartland, LP. There are approximately 3,575 people who live in the 1,100-home community south of Forney, Texas, on FM 741. The community boasts 400 acres of parks, picnic areas, biking trails, a community pool, and multiple sports facilities.
