Forney, Texas – Pinson Road has reopened after weeks of bridge construction between Magnolia Road and Redbud Drive temporarily closed the major roadway. The road was closed on July 10, 2013, and city officials hoped to reopen the bridge before the beginning of school on August 26, 2013.
“The construction team has worked diligently all summer to ensure the reopening of the bridge before the start of the school year,” said Forney's Assistant City Manager Gina Nash. The roadway reopened just after noon on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
Although the bridge has been completed, construction in the area is expected for the next several months as crews work to construct the new concrete four-lane undivided roadway, curbs, and underground drainage.
Streets along Pinson Road will now begin to close to allow construction crews to construct the roadway approaches for the new Pinson Road. “This is the most complicated of the City's three TxDOT road projects so we appreciate everyone's patience as we work through the details to completion,” said Nash. “We will continue continue to work with FISD to make this project as seamless as possible.”
