A Dallas woman was found in Kaufman, Texas, after being kidnapped at gunpoint on Thursday, August 22, 2013, in downtown Dallas, Texas.
Kaufman Police arrested 37-year-old Charles Atkins Lewis Jr., of Dallas, after receiving a call about a reckless driver on eastbound Highway 175 and Highway 243. Once police located the reckless driver's silver Lexus they performed a traffic stop. During the stop, officers noticed an injured female in the vehicle.
Upon further investigation, Kaufman Police determined the injured woman to be a kidnapping victim from Dallas and it was her silver Lexus the suspect was driving.
Kaufman Police arrested Lewis and later transported him to the Dallas County Jail where his bond was set at $50,000. According to Dallas County records, Lewis is being charged with aggravated kidnapping.
