After taking a loss against Forney High School last week, the Royse City Bulldogs lost to the North Forney Falcons football team on Friday night, September 6, 2013.
The first points to go on the board were off the foot of kicker Hunter McClain on an impressive 44-yard field goal with 5:11 left in the first half. The Bulldogs next possession was cut short after quarterback Jackson Watts threw an interception. The Falcons capitalized on the turnover and scored a 28-yard rushing touchdown by Armani Watts. Hunter McClain's point after attempt was good.
The Bulldogs returned the favor in the second quarter by first scoring a touchdown with 2:46 left on the clock. Bulldogs quarterback Jackson Watts completed a pass to Alex Crayton which was returned for an 82-yard touchdown. North Forney's Hunter Herndon threw an interception on their next possession and the Bulldogs put it away for another 7 points before breaking for halftime. With :07 left on the clock, Jack Watts completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jake Glisch.
Halftime score: Royse City 14, North Forney 10.
North Forney came out of the locker room and regained the lead from Royse City by scoring on a Herndon pass to Tyrone Morgan for a 47-yard touchdown. Keeping to Coach Gary's promise in preseason practice that McClain would put some points on the board with his foot, McClain completed his point after attempt.
The Bulldogs were denied in their next possession when Armani Watts swooped up a Bulldogs pass and returned the interception for a touchdown, running in from 25 yards. Mclain's point after attempt was again completed. The Falcons increased their lead to 24-14 over the Bulldogs.
Armani Watts intercepted another Jackson Watts pass late in the third quarter. The Falcons capitalized on their newly found possession and quarterback Herndon completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Armani Watts.
Only two points were accumulated in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored two points after a North Forney snap was dropped in the end zone for a safety with 3:39 left in the game.
Final score: North Forney Falcons 30 to Royse City Bulldogs 16.
