Forney, Texas – Police responded to a reported child abduction in Travis Ranch just after school hours on Wednesday, January 8, 2014. The call was initiated by at least one witness who reported seeing the child being abducted by an individual in a truck.
A Rockwall County Sheriff's Office deputy and a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper responded to the residence of the alleged abduction on New Braunfels Trail. Upon their arrival and after further investigation, the officers determined the child was at home.
The case was turned over to the Kaufman County Sheriffs Office according to the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office. Captain Fred Klingelberger, Public Information Officer for the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office, said this was not a child abduction and the child is at home and safe.
