The unit was originally used with the Forney Fire Department as a medical response unit and later became a command unit and general transportation unit. The truck will once again serve as a medical response unit for the Mabank Fire Department.
Commissioners with the Kaufman County Emergency Services District #6, which originally purchased the unit, opted to donate the unit instead of selling it at auction. The unit has approximately 115,000 miles but will replace an old Mabank medical rescue unit with over 300,000 miles.
Mabank Fire Department Chief Ricky Myrick and Mabank firefighter Mike Bass were at the Forney Fire Department to accept the donation along with several emergency service district members, Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend, Forney Fire Marshal John Holcomb, and members of the Forney Fire Department.
